PRESSURE (Personal HypErtenSion and Cardiovascular CaRE) is a collaborative innovation project focused on advancing remote patient monitoring for cardiovascular care. This joint initiative brings together smartQare,  FreeSenseSolutions, TU/e (EAISI), Catharina Hospital, and Eurocept Homecare, with support from OPZuid, the European Union, and the Province of North Brabant.

As healthcare systems face an aging population, rising costs, and persistent staff shortages, hospitals must enable earlier discharge without compromising patient safety. Continuous home monitoring is becoming an essential part of modern cardiovascular care. The challenge is implementing remote monitoring solutions that are safe, scalable, and clinically meaningful.

Within the Eindhoven MedTech Innovation Center (e/MTIC), PRESSURE develops an integrated care pathway for continuous, comfortable, non-invasive monitoring of patients at home. The project focuses on reliable data transmission, secure connectivity, seamless workflow integration, and clear clinical responsibilities.

“The patient and the care professional are central,” says Henk Stapert, CTO of smartQare. “Data must reach the professional securely, simply and reliably, without complicated actions.”

By combining expertise from cardiologists, nurses, engineers, and data specialists, smartQare contributes to a future of connected care — enabling shorter hospital stays, proactive intervention, and improved cardiovascular outcomes through continuous remote monitoring.
