smartQare at MEDICA 2026: continuous patient monitoring and connected care
From 16 to 19 November 2026, smartQare will exhibit at MEDICA in Düsseldorf, one of the world's largest trade fairs for medical technology.
Visit us at Messe Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, Hall 15, F47 to discuss how continuous patient monitoring can support patient care on general wards and throughout recovery after discharge.
We’re also looking to meet distribution and technology partners interested in bringing continuous patient monitoring to new markets.
Why smartQare is attending MEDICA
Healthcare is under increasing pressure. Workforce shortages continue to affect clinical capacity, while healthcare organisations are looking for ways to support more of the recovery at home without losing sight of patient condition.
This raises an important question: how can healthcare teams stay informed between routine observations, and how can that continue as patients move between care settings?
MEDICA's 2026 focus areas of Digital Medicine, Data & Artificial Intelligence and Integrated Care, Rehabilitation & Home Care reflect challenges we regularly hear from hospitals and healthcare organisations.
Many are exploring how digital technologies can help improve continuity of care, reduce the burden of manual processes and give healthcare professionals timely access to patient information. At the same time, they are looking for practical solutions that fit into the workflow on the ward.
At smartQare, we believe continuous vital sign measurements can help healthcare professionals stay informed about their patients throughout the care journey.
MEDICA brings together hospitals, care organisations, technology providers and channel partners from around the world. For us, it is an opportunity to meet distribution, technology and business partners, and to exchange experiences around patient monitoring and continuity of care.
From ward to discharge: keeping track of patient condition across the care journey
The challenge looks different at each stage of care, but it often starts on the general ward.
On most general wards, vital signs are measured manually at scheduled intervals, usually between three and four times a day. While these assessments play a central role in patient care, relevant changes may occur between checks. More frequent manual measurements can be difficult to sustain in busy clinical environments already facing workforce and capacity constraints.
Continuous patient monitoring provides healthcare professionals with additional information throughout the day. Heart rate, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation can be measured automatically, alongside parameters such as activity and skin temperature. This allows clinical teams to follow trends over time and build a more complete picture of patient status.
The need does not end at discharge. As care pathways extend into the home, access to meaningful patient information matters as much during recovery as it does on the ward.
Topics to discuss with our team
- Continuous patient monitoring in practice
Experiences from hospitals implementing continuous patient monitoring on general wards, including practical considerations, workflow integration and lessons learned from deployment.
- Recovery and follow-up after discharge
Approaches to collecting and using vital sign measurements after the hospital stay, and how organisations are exploring follow-up pathways during recovery at home.
- Digital workflows and interoperability
Making patient data available within existing clinical systems and digital environments, helping healthcare professionals access information within familiar workflows.
- Clinical, commercial, channel and technology partnerships
Collaboration opportunities across healthcare, distribution and technology ecosystems, as well as real experiences from implementation projects.
What we're showing
At MEDICA 2026, visitors can explore smartQare’s continuous patient monitoring solutions and discuss how they are being applied in clinical practice today across different stages of care, from hospital admission through recovery at home.
viQtor
viQtor is a wearable device designed for continuous monitoring on general wards. It automatically measures vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation, alongside activity and skin temperature, helping clinical teams access patient information between routine checks and follow trends over time.
Hospital to home
smartQare's hospital-to-home solutions extend that same principle beyond the hospital, so healthcare professionals can keep following patients as they recover at home.
Visitors to our stand can see our solutions in person and discuss practical deployment, workflow integration and implementation experiences with the smartQare team.
